The first instalment in Big Love’s ‘A Touch Of Love’ vinyl EP series brings together some of the label’s latest & finest moments for the vinyl heads. House pioneer & Chicago don Mike Dunn graces us with ‘It’s A Groove Thang’. A stripped back disco jam featuring his familiar spoken-word narration and Windy City drawl sonically soothing the groove as the bass pumps on. ‘Disco Dreams’ sees label head-honcho Seamus Haji bring his own funk-fuelled delivery to the label. The record transports you to the heavenly land of disco with euphoric strings, dazzling builds and nostalgic vocals from Mike Dunn in his own inimitable style. The flip features Nigel Lowis’ Soul City Connection project with ‘Brotherly Love’, firmly rooted in the Philadelphia sound of the 70’s with a lavish strings and brass driven arrangement. One of Chicago’s most revered DJ’s, Jamie 3:26 and Rotterdam producer Danou P step up for remix duties. They expertly soak the record in disco and funk influences, delivering their South Street Soul Strut Mix alongside Nigel’s original.
